Net-Zero Northwest is a project of the Clean Energy Transition Institute (CETI). CETI places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This policy explains the types of information that CETI’s website collects and how this information is used. “Our Site” includes the domains www.cleanenergytransition.org, www.cleantransition.org, www.cleanenergytransition.net, www.nwceatlas.org, www.nznw.org, and other websites that may be created in the future linked to the institute’s purpose.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

When people sign up to receive CETI e-communications or to donate to CETI, they provide us with contact information (such as name and email address). We may use this information for specific, limited purposes as outlined below. At any time, an individual may always "opt out," if they do not wish to receive our messages.

IP addresses

CETI uses IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer Our Site, and for metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

Cookies

Our Sites use "cookie" messages to help provide better services. They remind us who you are and your preferences for our website based on what you've done and told us before. The "cookie" is placed in your computer and is read when you come back to our website. Cookies let us take you to the information and features you're particularly interested in. They also let us track your usage of Our Sites, so we know which parts of Our Sites are most popular. You can instruct your web browser to reject or cancel cookies.

How Your Information May Be Used

We use your personal information to provide you personalized service; to send you email alerts; to answer your requests; and to solicit contributions. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us. We may also use your information to track visits of our website, which tells us the content that most interests our visitors and enables us to provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example) to outside parties.

Email Privacy

CETI will not under any circumstances provide, sell, or rent email addresses or any personal information we collect to anyone outside the organization.

External Links

Our Sites includes links to external websites, which do not fall under Our Sites domains, and CETI is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.

Our Commitment to Our Donors (Donor Privacy Policy)

CETI adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights. We maintain the highest level of privacy concerning our donors’ contact information and donation history. This Donor Privacy Policy applies to all information received by CETI, both online and offline, on any platform, as well as any electronic, written, or verbal communications.

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.

CETI will not sell or trade our donors’ personal information with any other entity.

All contact information is used for internal purposes only and never published.

Donor names are published in CETI’s annual report and on our website’s “Donor” page. Donors may request to remain anonymous.

We occasionally send mail to our donors, but we do not intend to send any unwanted mail. To be removed from CETI’s mailing list, please click here.
